Milestone 1 reached!

Some exciting news, we have reached our first Milestone goal at the beginning of this month! I can hear you whisper: “What on Earth does this mean?”. Well, that is exactly what we are going to talk about here today, explain why it is a big deal for us and show how far we have gotten in the development process. Without further ado, onwards!

The development goal we had set before us early on was pretty straightforward: to put some flesh on the bones, we need… you know, the bones. Resource management, controls, buildings and construction, level generator, and so much more! The list is quite long. We needed to create these essentials so we can test our game for being, well, fun to play. The game is now playable and soon we can start playtesting it! With all of that out of the way we set out to work on our first milestone, with our deadline set to 1st of October.

This milestone focused on main and side game mechanics, modeling and a few other things we won’t talk about just yet. All in all we wanted to have the ability to play the game! Put the core buildings in place, explore new territory, pick harvest resources like crops and wood, and more. We also put quite some work into making stuff look pretty. Let’s have an obligatory “before and after” shot, shall we?

All this means we finally have an early prototype on our hands, so we are going to start selling our game on Early Access for 59.99$/59.99£ /59.99€ already tomorrow. Put down the pitchforks, we are kidding! Glad to report that things work smoothly, albeit some bugs here and there do pop up - to be squashed with no mercy. Well, enough chit-chat, let’s watch some gameplay videos.

Let us know what you think. Any early pointers for us? How is the style so far? What would you like to see in game? We are all ears ^^ (Especially if you have played the original game)

That’s it for this time! Thank you for tuning in for the latest blog post! The next milestone goals have already been set, and oh boy are we excited to show you what it has in store. Well, see you next time!

Hugs from Hungry Trolls team
