A Bundle of great news!

We have been silent for a few weeks now, and we are really really sorry about that. Won’t happen again. Unless we get distracted by the new Elden Ring DLC or are too busy chipping away at our game. The truth is, so much was happening that we were (positively) overwhelmed!

Well, let’s start with some great news - Viken Filmsenter, the largest film center in Norway, has decided to support the development of Lost Settlers! In the past, they have also backed games like Draugen and the upcoming Dustborn, and we are thrilled to be one of the few lucky ones to receive their support. They do a lot of cool stuff, and are a pleasure to chat with, so head here if you want to learn more.

Let’s top that up by introducing two very handsome people who will be joining us in the development of the Lost Settlers [drum rolls].

Trym is a talented artist based in Norway, and has done many cool projects - each and every piece he produced is an eye candy, including our very own logo and branding! We would tell you more about his contributions to our projects, but we have keep our mouths shut for now ¬‿¬ . Can’t give away too much just yet, patience please.

ockpii is joining us to compose music for the game! Have you played Becastled or perhaps heard about Kloa - Child of the Forest? You guessed it right, he is the one responsible for those lovely compositions that get easily lodged in your head. We got some cool ideas about how we want to implement the music, but again, can’t really talk about it just yet. Looking forward to hearing his magic in Lost Settlers!

We also were present in two events happening here in Norway! Konsoll is the largest game development conference in Norway, held annually in rainy Bergen. We met a lot of lovely folk over there and even had a chance to chat with representatives at Ubisoft, 11-Bit Studios and many others. The plan is to be back next year, and present our game this time.

Last weekend we also had a chance to hang out with fellow game developers at [drum rolls] Funcom’s main office in Oslo and even got some spicy details about the upcoming Dune: Awakening (we are under NDA, sorry). Lost Settlers was also put on display, and everyone got a chance to play our game. We received a lot of feedback, and are currently knee-deep in the development yet again.

That being said we were also busy reworking the models we had in the game so far. We had to re-evaluate the chosen style and rework all modesl again, so they would be more readable and nicer to look at. At some point this iterative design should lead to the look and feel of our dreams. We might actually be really close to it already. But help us decide! Here is the latest render of the lumberjack’s hut. You can also poke the sketchfab version if you want to over here.

How is it? Do you like it? Does it feel cozy and warm? Please tell us! ^^ Also follow us on twitterbefore it burns down to the ground.

But in either case, see you next time!

I personally prefer the minimalist pixel style graphics, unless you're planning to change the game into something different.

:O

We are spiffing it up, if you will, gotta have the same minimalistic look and play, just in 3D ^^
